i had my very first trip ever to the emergency room tonight it was ever so fun i sat on some glass (don't ask) and it cut my ass well practically ass so i got to show my practically ass wound to many many people and they poked around at it and stapled me up and also i bled all over the bathroom it was so much blood but i did learn a cool thing did you know that hydrogen peroxide gets blood out of carpet? and bathroom rugs? and clothes? it foams up and then the blood disappears! which is a good thing. because there were many blood spots on the carpet. also i got a tetanus shot also they got my name horribly wrong but i spell it wrong sometimes too so that's okay ok i think that is all i like ginger snaps

everyone in the world should read cunt by inga muscio, most especially every woman. she tries to reclaim the word cunt for several reasons, make women love their bodies instead of being ashamed of them, make women see how desperately we need to work together, and show us how fucked up the patriarchy we live in is. she will make you want to change the world & she will make you believe that you can... WOMEN by annie leibovitz also rocks... it's a book of photographs of women. there is a short biography of each woman in the back... the book includes famous women (drew barrymore, courtney love, ann richards, hillary clinton, gloria steinem, barbara bush), women with jobs like astronaut, farmer, academic, vegas showgirl, researcher, coal miners... there are old women and young women and women of every size and shape... even a bearded lady and a transwoman.... there are young women in a gang and women who are victims of domestic violence... dancers and poets and writers and musicians... and they are all beautiful... when you read their bios in the back you see how amazing these women are and how amazing women in general are.... Pink Think: Becoming a Woman in Many Uneasy Lessons by Lynn Peril is about the way society dictates the roles of women and men, with emphasis on the late 1940s through the early 1970s.... she talks about etiquette books and games and toys for little girls that were designed to teach them their role as wife and mother. they were taught how to dress for men, how to attract men, how to behave around men so that men would feel good about themselves, etc. it's an interetsing book, but it's no cunt.... The Ch'I-Lin Purse: A Collection of Ancient Chinese Stories by Linda Fang was really great... i've been obsessed with fairy tales lately because i think the stories we teach our children tell us a lot... and these stories are soooo different than the ones we grow up learning. the women are not helpless victims waiting for some prince to come save them. they are strong and brave and even though they live in a world dominated by men, they are shown as powerful, when they are shown at all. the stories about men are just about men... there is no princess to save thrown in, and i like that. and all the stories have morals to them as well... i love this book.... i promise not every book i read is about women (even though i just read the handmaid's tale too) but these are the most interesting books i've read in the past month. okay thanks. i can't believe how slow it's gotten at work
